Mr. Steffen was born Oct. 29, 1912,in the Town of Taycheedah, the son of Joseph and Christina Hoehl Steffen. He married Frances R. Freund on June 24, 1935, at St. Peter's Catholic Church, St. Peter. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church. Mr. Steffen was employed by Arps Corp. of New Holstein for 35 years, retiring Oct. 29, 1976.
Survivors include one son, three grandchildren, one great-grandson, two sisters, and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wile, brother and seven sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Patrick's Church, Fond du Lac. Entombment will be at the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum.
