Clair E. Groff, 75, of Annville died Thursday, May 9, 2019 at Legend of Lititz. He was the husband of Marlene R. Moyer Groff to whom he was married 56 years.
Born in Manheim on July 4, 1943, he was the son of the late Jonas and Edith Ebersole Groff. He worked at Bethlehem Steel Quarry in Annville as a welder and was a truck driver for Pitt Ohio in Harrisburg and Lesher Mack in Lebanon.
Clair was a member of First Evangelical Congregational Church, Palmyra, served as a Boy Scout Leader for Troop 98, Palmyra, enjoyed camping, and was an avid gardener who enjoyed growing fruit trees.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons Jeffery A. husband of Janice L. Groff of Mechanicsburg, Michael C. husband of Catherine E. Groff of Palmyra, two grandchildren Nathan S. Harner and Benjamin M. Groff, a brother Harold husband of Lois Groff of Landisville and a sister Helen wife of David Habecker of Newmanstown. He was preceded in death by a two brothers Homer and Kenneth Groff and a sister Hilda Wenger.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at 10:30 AM at First EC Church, 55 W. Main Street, Palmyra. Interment will be in Grand View Memorial Park. A viewing will be held on Wednesday evening from 6-8 PM at the Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory, 618 E. Main Street, Annville and also from 9:30-10:30 AM at the Church. Contributions may be made to Hopewell Hospice Foundation of America, Inc., 525 Route 70 West, Suite B15, Lakewood, NJ 08701 in his memory.
