Anton Unterreiner was the son of Franz Josef Unterreiner and Maria Elizabeth Litsch. He married Regina Schott, daughter of Matthaus Schott and Maria Attala Hafner. She died in 1830. He next married Gertrud Walz. Anton and Regina had 3 children; Eduard, Maria Justina, and Eugene. Anton and Gertrud had 10 children; Stephen, Gottfried, Paul, Elizabeth, Regina, Blasius, Joseph Henry, William, Anton, and Victoria. The family sailed from LeHavre, France on the ship "Austerlitz" and arrived in New Orleans on November 22, 1839. They settled in Apple Creek, Perry County, Missouri. Anton declared his intention to become a U.S. citizen on April 14, 1844.
