Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today in Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors Bell Avenue Chapel, 5400 Bell St., by the Rev. Raymond Crosier of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Joseph's Catholic Church by the Rev. Crosier and the Rev. Ken Keller. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery.
Mr. Hellmann was born in Umbarger and moved to Amarillo in 1945 from Hereford. He had been a dispatcher with Santa Fe Railway, retiring in 1977 after 50 years. He attended St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
He married Mary Louise Kearns in 1942 in Amarillo.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Steven Hellmann of Grand Prairie; a daughter, Helene Smith of Houston; a brother, Francis M. Hellmann of San Mateo, Calif.; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
The family requests memorials be to a favorite charity or St. Anne's Nursing Home at Panhandle.
