George Creel Nuzum Jr. passed away December 16, 2011.

Born in Atlanta in 1945 during World War II, he resided with his family in Dallas, Chicago and Claxton before settling in Jacksonville, Florida. He attended Terry Parker High School where he was the school spirit and later graduated from the University of Florida as a proud member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity and an unwaveringly loyal Gator Fan.

George had a successful career devoted to the banking industry and, in his early professional life, used his business skills as a dedicated volunteer with the Jaycees. Upon retiring, he ventured into a second career, opening a restaurant with his eldest son.

George was predeceased by his father George Creel Nuzum Sr., and faithful dog, Duchess.

He is survived by his mother Frances Hodges Nuzum McLanahan, his two sisters Nancy Landgraf and Catherine Love Kennedy, sons George Creel Nuzum III (Trey) and Charles Finley Nuzum, his daughter Amy Elizabeth Nuzum and their families.

He will be dearly missed by all who loved him. A family and friends memorial will be held Sunday, January 15, 2012.
