"The Gentleman's Magazine" Vol. 11, March 1839, page 319:
"P.C. Labouchere, Esq.
Jan. 16. At Hylands, near Chelmsford, in his 68th year, Peter Caesar Labouchere, esq.

Mr. Labouchere was a partner in the great mercantile house of Hope and Company; and he has died, it is believed, very rich. He had expended large sums on the mansion and estate of Hylands; and his benevolent hand distributed comfort and content amongst the cottages of the surrounding poor.

He married at Beddington, Nov. 26, 1796, Dorothy-Elizabeth, 4th daughter of the late Sir Francis Baring, Bart. and sister to the present Sir Thomas Baring and Lord Ashburton; by whom he has left issue two sons, John, a banker in London, and the Right Hon. Henry Labouchere, now Master of the Mint, and under-Secretary for the Colonies. The mortal remains of the deceased were removed for interment to the family vault at Stowey, Somersetshire."
