LIVED 46 YEARS ON SAME FARM
Another Pioneer Dodge County Woman Called
Mrs. Sophie Von Seggern, mother of Mrs. W. O. Haseman of Fremont, a pioneer Dodge county woman, died at the Von Seggern farm home eight miles north of Hooper Wednesday evening. Mrs. Von Seggern had been lingering for the last two months but her condition had not been critical until the last three days.
Mrs. Von Seggern would have been 70 years of age had she lived till November. She was born in Germany and at the age of 23 came to America. Three days later her marriage to Henry Von Seggern took place on the farm Mr. Von Seggern homesteaded. Mrs. Von Seggern resided continuously on that farm until her death, a period of 46 years. Mr. Von Seggern died 27 years ago from bloodpoisoning that developed following a kick from a horse.
Close surviving relatives are six daughters: Mrs. Louise [Louis] Uehling and Mrs. Frank Uehling, Uehling; Mrs. A. H. Heyne, Wisner; Mrs. Arthur Wieland, West Point; Mrs. W. O. Haseman, Fremont; and Martha at home, and three sons, Henry, Uehling; John, Wisner; and Emil, West Point.
The funeral will be held Saturday afternoon at the Von Seggern home at 2 o’clock. Burial will be at the St. Paul church cemetery.
