Mrs. Irene G. (Kosack) Gantz, of Lost Creek, died suddenly Wednesday evening at the Hazleton-St. Joseph Medical Center. Born in Shenandoah, she was a daughter of the late Peter and Caroline (Tubis) Kosack. She was a member St. Casimir's R.C. Church, Shenandoah; St. Casimir's Holy Rosary and Sacred Heart Sodalities, the Greater Shenandoa77Area Senior Citizens, and the Statue of Liberty Ellis Island Foundation. Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her husband, Stanley, who died in 1979; two sisters, Lucy Gaughan and Selina McCord, and one brother, Alfred. Surviving are one son, Ronald J., Drums; two daughters, Mrs. Robert L. (Barbara) Carlstrom, North Babylon, Long Island, N.Y., and Mrs. Thomas P. (Catherine) McKeone Sr., Rochester, Mich.; a brother, Robert, Drums; six sisters, Marie Karalunas and Rosemarie Damin, both of Shenandoah; Mrs. Joseph (Jule) Sedor, Long Island, N.Y.; Mrs. Ronald (Caroline) Honorowski, Yonkers, N. Y.; Mrs. Edward (Vlare) Danowski, Philadelphia, and Helen, Ringtown; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. from the Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Casimir's R.C. Church. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Calling hours will be on Friday from 5 to 9 p.m. A prayer service will be held at 6 p.m. Marguerite Oravitz Fell, director, is in charge of arrangements.
