Marie R. (Kosack) Karalunas, 80, of 335 W. Mount Vernon St., Shenandoah, died Nov. 18 at the home of her sister in Long Island, N.Y. Born in Shenandoah, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Caroline (Tobias) Kosack. She was a graduate of J.W. Cooper High School, Shenandoah. She was a member of St. Casimir's Roman Catholic Church, Shenandoah, the Rosary and Sacred Heart societies of the parish, and the Greater Shenandoah Area Senior Citizens. Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her husband, Joseph, who died July 11, 1973; brothers, Alfred and Robert; and sisters, Lucy Gaughan, Selina McCord and Irene Gantz. Surviving are a daughter, Marie Selina "Marsha" Karalunas, at home; sisters, Rosemarie Damin, with whom she lived, Jewel Sedor, Long Island, N.Y.; Caroline Honorowski, Yonkers, N.Y.; and Valare Danowski, Philadelphia; nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass on Saturday at 9 a.m. in St. Casimir's R.C. Church. Burial will follow in St. Casimir's Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights. There will be no viewing or services at the funeral home. The Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home of Shenandoah is in charge of arrangements.
