Sometime before 1877, Kate married August Wilhelm Zeller. They had 5 or 6 children before emigrating to the United States.
The family arrived in New York on May 25, 1883. They had traveled on the ship the Pennland. The passenger list includes August and Catharina and their children August Immanuel, Ernst Carl, Carl, Anna Luise and Friederich. Friederich's middle name might be Wilhelm. I believe one child died before the family left Germany.
The family settled in Clay Center, Clay County, Kansas. There, they had 6 more children, namely: Martha E (abt 1886); Christian John, (7/26/1887); twins Samuel John and John S (Samuel?) (6/10/1890); Henry Obenland (8/26/1892 and one more daughter, whose name is unknown at this time.
In the late 1890's, the family moved to Marshall, Logan County, Oklahoma. August was a butcher and preacher.
The 1920 Census states that August, Kate, and Ernst Carl were all naturalized in 1890. Son August Immanuel was naturalized in 1897.
The 1910 and 1920 Federal Census lists Kate, August and Ernst living together in Marshall, Logan County, Oklahoma. It doesn't look like Ernst ever married. In the 1920 Census, August Sr. owned the land, which Ernst farmed.
August Sr. passed away in 1925. His wife, Kate, passed away just three years later, on April 1, 1928. She was buried next to her husband.
