Mary K. Arens, 91, of Dyersville passed away Saturday, March 23, 2019, at her home.
Visitation will be held from 2-8 pm Tuesday, March 26, 2019, at Kramer Funeral Home, 750 12th Ave SW in Dyersville, where a parish vigil service will be held at 2 pm. Visitation will continue from 8:30 – 9:30 am Wednesday prior to funeral services.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2019, at St. Francis Xavier Basilica in Dyersville with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Dennis Conway will officiate.

Mary was born September 29, 1927, in Petersburg, Iowa the daughter of William and Mary (Harter) Mormann. She married Richard J. “Dick” Arens on October 20, 1948, at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Petersburg. Together they farmed west of Dyersville.

Mary is survived by her children, Donna (John Shaw) Sutton-Shaw of Manchester, Tom Arens and Mary Jo (Steve) Friedmann, both of Dyersville, 12 grandchildren: Corey (Stefani) DeMoss, Brian (Jenny Hermsen) Arens, Holly (Jim) Doyle, Jordan Bildstein, Brady, McKenzie, Sydney, Kennedy and Trent Arens, Nicholas, Rachel and Tony Friedmann, and great-grandchildren, Emma and Dylan DeMoss, Jack, Owen and Willa Doyle and Oliver Bildstein, and a sister-in-law, Vera Mormann of Petersburg.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 2005, a son, Rick Arens, a son-in-law, Gregg Sutton, siblings: Julitta (Harlan) Friedmann and William Mormann, a brother-in-law, Baby Boy Arens in infancy, and sisters-in-law, Rosa Langel, Molly Hahn, Agnes Weber, Stasia Bonert and Leona Demmer.
