Friedrich Paul Georg Otto Emmer was the first born child of Otto and Elsbeth Friedrichs Emmer.
Otto was baptized January 5, 1908, and he was confirmed April 5, 1922, in the St. Stephani Evangelical Lutheran Church in Helmstedt, Germany.
Otto Emmer, Jr., married Erna Bauer, and they were the parents of two children, Klaus-Peter Emmer, who was born March 23, 1938, and Uta Emmer, who was born May 13, 1943.
Peter married Rosemarie Schreibke in March 1961, and they were the parents of two daughters, Claudia and Birgit.
Uta married Hennig Rode, and they had no children.

Otto and Erna Emmer lived through World War II, and at the war's end in 1945, they saw the division of Germany among the allied powers. The city of Schoningen, where they resided, was part of the British-occupied zone of Germany, and in 1949, Otto and Erna Emmer became citizens of the Federal Republic of Germany, or West Germany.

At his death in 1957, Otto Emmer was survived by his wife, Erna; his son, Peter, his daughter, Uta; his brother, Hans Emmer, and his sister, Gertrud Emmer Danker.
Otto was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Elsbeth Friedrichs Emmer.
