MRS. OBERMILLER RITES WEDNESDAY

Resident of This County for Many Years.

Mrs. John H. Obermiller, of Farwell, passed away at the home of her son, Robert, of Boelus, on August 19, after an illness of several weeks.

Christina Schuett, daughter of John and Anna Schuett, was born in Clinton, Iowa August 19, 1872 and departed this life on Sept. 26, 1943. In her childhood, she was baptized in the Lutheran faith. She came to Nebraska with her parents and resided four miles north of Boelus. On March 10, 1893, she was united in marriage to John H. Obermiller at St. Paul, Neb. They set up house-keeping on their farm one mile south of Boelus, where they resided for 23 years. Then, they purchased a smaller farm near Farwell, where they have since resided. To this union, three children were born: Robert of Boelus, Freddie, who died in infancy and Mrs. Margaret Spellman of Lincoln.

Last spring, Mrs. Obermiller's health began to fail as she was suffering a heart and kidney ailment. On August 20, she entered a hospital in St. Paul, where she received treatment for about a month. On her release from the hospital, she was taken to the home of her son, Robert, and she seemed to be improving. Saturday night, she suffered a paralytic stroke which resulted in her death on Sunday evening at 5:15 at the age of 71 years, 1 month, and 7 days.

Left to mourn her passing besides her husband, son and daughter, are two brothers, John and Claus Schuett of Boelus, 6 grandchildren, Mrs. Bernice Harrison, Irma and Ardyce Obermiller all of Oakland, Calif., Lucille Spellman of Cotesfield, Dorothy Spellman of Lincoln and Cpl. Don Spellman of Fort Monmouth, N.J. and one great grandchild, Robert Harrison of Oakland, Calif.

Her life was spared until they had the pleasure of celebrating their golden wedding anniversary last March with their relatives and many friends. This occasion she enjoyed to the fullest extent.

Mrs. Obermiller was a hard working woman and took a great deal of pride in her home. Her greatest joy in life was the little deeds she could do for her children and grandchildren. She was a kind and loving wife and mother, a good neighbor and a true friend. She will be greatly missed by her loved ones.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday from the Boelus (Methodist) church with the Rev. Esther Sorensen in charge. The choir consisting of Mrs. N. E. Nielsen, Mrs. Harvey Berck, Julius Bernhagen, and Fredulph Larsen sang three selections. Pall bearers were Julius Schuett, John Clausen, Fred Seifert, Henry Obermiller, Elmer Obermiller and Chris Knoepfel. Interment was in the Kelso cemetery.

Relatives attending from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Spellman and daughters, Lucille and Dorothy of Lincoln, Mrs. Hans Rathman, Mrs. John Bushman, Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Lassen and daughter, Mrs. John Lassen. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Obermiller, Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Sass, Mr. and Mrs. Chris Clausen and Mr. and Mrs. Claus Clausen, all of Grand Island; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Obermiller, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Obermiller and Irvine Obermiller of Loup City; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Obermiller of St. Paul; John Obermiller, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Obermiller, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Obermiller and son, Mr. and Mrs. August Wichman, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Zavitka, Hattie Wichman, Mrs. G.
