Bertha Hesles Acosta, lovingly called “Nana”, born October 19, 1940 in Eagle Pass, Texas to Jose Alfredo and Bertha Schroeder Hesles, went home to Our Lord on the Feast Day of the Epiphany, January 7, 2018.

Nana was a devout Roman Catholic and a vibrant Prayer Warrior. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. She retired from the IRS Department of Treasury.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carlos Sergio Acosta in 1992, her sister, Marina O’Con, her brother, Ricky Hesles, and grandson, David Sergio Acosta.

Survivors include her sons: Carlos Orlando Acosta and wife Janet of The Woodlands, Texas, and Ricardo Sergio Acosta and wife Deborah of Boerne, Texas; daughters: Sandra Yvette Brinkmann and husband Robert, and Patricia Ninette Jackson and husband Lance, all of San Antonio; grandchildren: Mark Thomas and Stephanie Acosta, Ashley Michelle Acosta, Michael Preston Acosta, Deborah Jordan Acosta, Charles David and Sofia Acosta, Robert Thomas and Rebecca Brinkmann, Matthew Joseph Brinkmann, Blake Elliot Jackson, Zachary Adam Jackson, and Bryanna Mackenzie Jackson; one great grandson, Leonardo David Acosta; her brothers: Alfredo and Mario Hesles; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
