He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Burkhart; his parents, Walter and Sylvia Burkhart; two sisters, Jonnie Neal and Shirley Jack; one brother, Walter Burkhart Jr.
He is survived one son, Gary Burkhart, Jr. of Van Buren; one sister, Betty Dixon of Garland, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.
Arrangements and burial under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
