Albert Gladis, 89, passed away in his home in Garden Grove, California on July 27, 2007 of pancreatic cancer. He was the second of four children born to Peter and Julia Gladis in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on March 24, 1918. Albert and his wife Etta moved from the East Coast and lived in the Mid West before settling in Garden Grove. After his loving wife Etta passed away, he spent a great deal of time at his home of 48 years reading books and articles that interested him. He loved photography, cars, old trains, firearms, knives and football as well as dancing to Country Western Music. Albert was a man of few words but he had a big heart! Being with his family was a big part of his life, and he loved children. He was always a happy guest at many family dinners and he always had dessert!! He is survived by children, Kaylaa Fox, Joan Antram and husband Don, and Richard Gladis; grandchildren, Dave Van Skyock, Kristine Weatherly and husband Ray, and Michael Gladis; great-grandchildren, David, Jeff, Travis, Weston, and Nicole and Danielle; also sister, Eleanor Gladis and other loving family members located on the East Coast. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed. Graveside held August 13, 2007, at Westminster Memorial Park, Westminster, California. Published in the Orange County Register Aug 12, 2007.
