Der Deutsche Correspondent, Baltimore 6-23-1880 (translated):
Tragic death. – Mr. August Krespach, born at Lancaster, Pa., passed away yesterday evening at 7 o'clock after a severe illness, at his home on Brown's Lane, opposite Seeger's Brewery, at the young age of 22 years. He had recently eaten cherries, drank ice water afterwards, and soon became so ill that doctors Holloway and Dwinelle were brought in. They unsuccessfully attempted to pump his stomach, but his intestines were twisted, which wrested him much too early from his relatives and friends. He had worked for butcher Mr. Karl Blumhardt, who has lost one of his best workers, and was the son of Mr. Anton Krespach, who works in Stiefel's Brewery, and leaves a wife and child. The funeral will take place tomorrow afternoon at 4 o'clock from said residence to Loudon Park Cemetery.
