KATHRYN BOST, 95 ROCKFORD - Kathryn Bost, 95, of Rockford went home to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Sunday, Aug. 7, 2011, while at home surrounded by her family. Kathryn was born April 19, 1916, in Rugby, N.D., to Frank and Barbara Dutenhafer. She was the second oldest of 15 children. She married Eugene Bost on Nov. 14, 1942, in Texas and moved to Rockford, where she and her husband raised eight children. Kathryn is survived by sons, Michael (Kim) Bost, John Bost, Joseph Bost, Robert Bost, Thomas (Lili) Bost and James Bost; daughters, Barbara Newcomb and Kathryn (Constantin) Pawlow; grandchildren, Jason (Tabatha) Newcomb, Jenai (Jeff) Mayo, Andrea Bost, Christi Bost, Melissa (Terence) Beasley and Valentin (Ericka) Pawlow; 12 great-grandchildren; brothers, John, Francis and Jerome Dutenhafer; sisters. Anne Johnson, Hilda Jasper, Carol Beaver and Bernadine Brandon. Predeceased by parents; two brothers, Joseph and Frank Dutenhafer; five sisters, Alvina Dutenhafer, Josephine Ingram, Lena Nett, Delores Byerly and Pauline Huene. The family would like to especially thank the staff at Visiting Nurses Association (VNA) Hospice for making Kathryn's last days so comfortable and peaceful. Also, special thanks to Community Care Services, Rockford, for two years of assisting her with compassionate help. Funeral service at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, at Sunset Funeral Home (sunsetfhmemgardens.com), 8800 N. Alpine Road, Machesney Park, with visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 19, at the funeral home. Cremation rites have been accorded.
