Karin Conrad, 81, of Decatur, passed away on Sunday, February 17, 2019 at Ossian Healthcare. Karin was born on December 23, 1937 in Berlin, Germany to the late Wilhelm and Elsa (Knoph) Ohm. On October 30, 1958, she married Raymond “Ray” Conrad. He preceded her in death on March 20, 2014.

Karin was a member of the Decatur Church of God. She was a waitress at the Back 40 Restaurant for 13 years. Following that, Karin became co-owner of the Rheinlander with her husband, Ray, and Poodle and Willie Schroeder from 1976 to 1992. She was a Flowerkraut! (she loved her flowers) Karin loved to tell jokes, but could never remember the punch line!

Karin is survived by a son, Tom (TC) and Jo Conrad of Decatur; 2 daughters Monica “Moni” (Greg Krauss) Hall of Decatur and Christina Marie (Jim) Teeple of Monroe; a sister, Nicola (Peer) Schmidt-Ohm of Hamburg, Germany; 6 grandchildren: Jesse and (Melissa) Kelley; Tommie (Danielle) Conrad; Breona (Joshua) Murphy; Nadia (Bob Espy) Hall; Jamee and David Teeple; 8 great grandchildren, with one on the way; 2 nephews, Paul Ohm and Johannes Ohm.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at the Decatur Church of God, with calling prior from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Dr. Robert Brink and Pastor Don Smith will be officiating.
