Brother of Frank J., Carall W. and Thruman W. Fillinger. He served in the US Army from 1942 to 1946. He passed away on April 29, 1977, in Detroit, at the age of 58. Service took place on May 5, 1977 with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
