Truman Fillinger, age 97, Beloved husband of the late Florence Catherine Fillinger. Dearest father of Dolores (Paul), Ken (Val) and Larry (Barbara). Dear grandfather of 13 grandchildren. Precious great-grandfather of 11 great-grandchildren. Loving brother of the late Frank, Cal and Vince Fillinger.

Truman worked at General Motors as a Job Setter for 30 years. He liked hunting at “the camp” but always was pleased when he did not shoot a deer. Gardening, watching TV and feeding the birds and squirrels were some of his favorite pastimes along with a good conversation and listening to music.

He loved to share stories of the past and his military service in the U.S. Navy. Words to describe him are hardworking, responsible, determined, and a person of faith, along with a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

Family will gather Thursday, May 24, 2018 from 9:30am to 10:00am for a brief visitation at the Dearborn Chapel of the Howe-Peterson Funeral Home and then to St. Sebastian Catholic Church, In state at 10:30am, Mass at 11:00am. The church is located at 3965 Merrick Street, Dearborn Heights, MI. Burial at Mt.Olivet Cemetery, Detroit, MI will take place on Friday, May 25, 2018, at 11:00am.
