Mabel was born in Oconee County, a daughter of the late Benjamin J. and Alloe Elkin Taylor. She worked for many years at the Central Drug Store, then worked at Edwards Junior High School for a number of years. Many would know her from her many years of working at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home. Mabel was a longtime member and also the oldest surviving member of Central First Baptist Church where she sang in the choir, helped with Bible School and Sunday School programs as well as holding many different leadership positions of the church. She was also instrumental in the origination of Helping Hands and deliverd Meals on Wheels for many years.
Surviving are children, Steve Bolt (Gail) of Orangeburg, SC, Barbara Brown (Dale) of Johnston, SC, Gene Bolt (Sue) of Medical Lake, WA; Nancy Johnson of Central; grandchildren, Scott Bolt, Mike Bolt, Suzanne Davis (Van), Andrea Stephens (Paul), Melanie Amick (Lyndon), John Brown, Brandon Bolt (Mary Jo), Tyran Bolt (Shayla), Travis Johnson and Blake Johnson; and 16 great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mabel was predeceased by her brother, Sam J. Taylor; sisters, Raynell Rambo and Ruth Pickens; and 2 great grandsons, Taylor Davis and Stuart Bolt.
