Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at a 2:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille for Noelie V. Suir, 84, who passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 9, 2008 at Evangeline Oaks Guest House in Carencro.

Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 2300 North University Lafayette, Louisiana 70507. Reverend Curtis Mallet, Pastor of St. Genevieve Catholic Church, will be the Celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services.

After 84 years of living her life to the fullest the Lord has called our Christmas Baby to join him in eternal peace. Noelie, "Maw Maw Lee", as the little people of the family referred to her, was an unbelievably passionate mother of three, grandmother of nine, great grandmother of eleven, and a close friend to all who knew her.

Born on December 25, 1923 near Lyons Point, Louisiana to Ulyssee Vincent, Jr. and Edna Simon Vincent also from the Lyons Point area. One of fourteen children (4 boys and 10 girls), she graduated from Morse High School, and worked as a clerk at Sears of Crowley and New Iberia and also at Simoneaux's Grocery in New Iberia. She thoroughly enjoyed her years volunteering as a foster grandparent for Evangeline Elementary School. She was also a faithful member of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church and a member of the Ladies Altar Society. She raised two sons, and a daughter, Burton, Glenn and Patricia, who never had to wait for attention or affection, who always heard about the importance of education, family values, Christian values, the love of life, a good old fashion Cajun two step, Cajun cooking, beautiful flowers, fresh vegetables and all the things the good Lord has provided, just for us.

She is survived by her son, Burton J. Suir and his wife, Linda and their sons, Corey and Kevin all of Lafayette; one daughter in law, Doris T. Suir and her three children, Laura Horn of St. Martinville, Michelle Rue of Carencro and Glenn Michael Suir of Lafayette; one daughter, Patricia S. Landry and her husband, Robert and their three daughters, Monica Landry, Jessica Worsham and Alicia O'Quinn all of New Iberia; and seven sisters, Kelly Landry of Morse, Elrina of Crowley, Matilda (Jean) McCoy of Elton, Verna Hargrave of Beaumont,TX., Marylean (Mary) Granger of Lake Charles, Wona Faye Wyble of Duson and Laurice Hulin of Midland.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ulyssee Vincent, Jr. and Edna Simon; her former husband, Herbert J. Suir; one son Glenn R. Suir; one granddaughter, Alicia Suir; four brothers, Clovis, Semar, Dewey and Minus Vincent; and two sisters, Alia Thibodeaux and Pearly Vincent.

Pallbearers will be Burton Suir, Robert Landry, Michael Suir, Corey Suir, Kevin Suir and Donald Vincent.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Edwin Horn, Gary Worsham, Brett Hebert, Brody Bourque, Roland Rue, Daniel O'Quinn and Kevin Stern.

A Rosary will be prayed on Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at 6:00 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home in Lafayette. The family requests that visitation be observed on Tuesday from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM and on Wednesday from 8:00 AM until time of services.

A huge heart filled thanks goes out to Evangeline Oaks Nursing Home of Carencro, for making our mother's stay a pleasant experience. A special thanks goes out to the nurses and aids of the Blue Section who so lovingly cared for our mother in such a professional manner.
