Nyna "June" Baker, age 86, died of heart failure Monday, September 3, 2007. She was born in Oskaloosa, Iowa on January 18, 1921. June moved to Lakeland 1 1/2 years ago from Ft. Meade, FL where she resided for the last 22 years. Prior to moving to Ft. Meade, she lived in Vero Beach, FL for 25 years. She was an LPN and a physical therapist who worked at The Mahaska Hospital in Iowa and in the Vero Beach hospital. She was a lifetime member of the Eastern Star, Tri-Star Chapter #99 in Oskaloosa, IA. She attended The First Church of God on South Perry Avenue, Ft. Meade, FL and attended Victory Assembly of God's Friday Kennagers Services in Laekland, FL.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Raymond F. Baker. She is survived by her son, William Baker of Orlando, FL; daughter, Becky Scruggs of Ft. Meade; brother, Hugh Ben McCoy and wife Louise of Iowa; granddaughters, Katie Barnett, Jennifer Kurzawa, Jillian Scruggs; great granddaughters, Genevieve Barnett, Olivia Barnett and Raelyn Kurzawa.
Interment will be in Forest Cemetery in Oskaloosa, IA.
