HERZOG, John - Of Burton, age 83, died Saturday, August 18, 2007 at Genesys Regional Medical Center. Funeral service will be held at 1PM Friday, August 24, 2007 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Harold K. Polk, Jr. officiating. Burial in Crestwood Cemetery. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Cancer Society. Visitation 2-4PM and 6-8PM Thursday and 10AM Friday until the time of the service at the funeral home. John was born in Sheboygan, WI July 2, 1924, the son of Fred and Sophie (Riemer) Herzog, and was a resident of the Flint area and Burton since 1943. He married Martha E. Robbins on September 12, 1953. He was a member of Modern Woodsmen for over 50 years. Mr. Herzog was employed by Buick Motor Division for 42 years, retiring in 1982. Surviving are wife, Martha; 2 children, John Andrew Herzog and Laura May Herzog; 2 grandsons, Keith Micah Herzog and David John Herzog; sister, Doris Dalhaimer of Klamath Falls, Oregon; many nieces and nephews; best friends, Bob Irrer and Henry Jurasek.
