Film Director, Scriptwriter, Writer. She was best known for her advertisements for the Malaysian oil and gas company Petronas, well known for their humorous, touching and inter-cultural elements. Born in Johor, she was a graduate in arts majoring in politics and psychology from Newcastle University. She began her career in advertising as a writer and in 1993 she went to Leo Burnett as a creative director, eventually rising to executive creative director at the firm's Kuala Lumpur branch. Her first feature-length film "Rabun" was released in 2002. In 2006, her film "Mukhsin" won an international children's best feature film award. Most of her commercials and films have been screened at international film festivals and the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival. In November 2008, she was inducted into the Malaysian Advertising Hall of Fame. On 23 July 2009, she suffered a stroke, and was rushed to a hospital where she underwent a neurosurgery procedure. She died two days later. She was working on the feature film "Go, Thaddeus!" at the time of her death.
