20 year-old son of Levi and Elizabeth Wolfinger who died of inflammation of the bowels, according to cemetery records.

Telegraph (Harrisburg, Pa.), Tuesday, December 26, 1872, p. 3, col. 2:
"ROBERT WOLFONGER, an estimable young man, son of Levi Wolfinger, Esq., died at the residence of his parents, on Walnut street, on Tuesday evening, about seven o'clock. Although he had been unwell for several weeks, he was not considered dangerously ill until the beginning of the present week, when he grew worse, and notwithstanding the efforts of his medical attendants, he expired at the time stated. He was fully aware of his condition and seemed perfectly willing to go hence. He bade his parents and friends farewell and desired that they should not mourn for him. The young man had just entered upon the estate of manhood, being in the 21st year of his age. By his amiable disposition he had endeared himself to all who knew him, and his death casts a gloom over a large circle of acquaintances and friends. He was an obedient and loving son, an affectionate brother, a firm and attentive friend, an honest, upright and conscientious young man. Had he been spared, he would have made an enterprising and active business man. But "God's ways are not our ways," and he took him to himself on the eve of the anniversary of the birth of our savior, and our young friend no doubt joined the bright throng in that better world, and mingled his voice with them in their praises of Him who came into the world to save sinners. The afflicted family in this their time of trouble can look to "Him who doeth all things well" for comfort, and be consoled by the knowledge that their dear one has "go be before" to await their coming and greet them when they too shall cross the dark stream."
