Catherine R. Koester, 97, of Effingham died at 4:15 pm Tuesday, Jan. 28, 1997, at Evergreen Nursing Center, Effingham.
Funeral services will be at 10 am Saturday at Sacred Heart Church, Effingham, with burial in St Anthony Cemetery, Effingham. Visitation will be from 8:30 to 9:30. Memorials may be made to St Anthony schools.
Miss Koester was born Oct. 21, 1899, in Effingham, the daughter of Anthony and Katherine (Repking) Koester. She was a cook for many years at St Anthony schools; a former employee of Koester Dairy in Effingham; and was a member of St Anthony Catholic Church, Effingham.
Survivors include her brother, Ralph H. Koester of Effingham; and several nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.
