Father and Son Die A Few Days Apart
Anthony Koester, 69 years of age and Anthony Koester, 27 years of age, father and son, of north of Effingham, Illinois, died within a few days of each other last week. Anthony, died Thursday afternoon, March 28, at St Anthony Hospital after a two weeks' illness with pneumonia, while his Father died Saturday about 12:30 pm with a complication of diseases and shock over his son's death on Thursday.
The Koesters were the owners of the Koester Dairy at Effingham, Illinois. Anthony, was employed as a truck driver for the plant.
They are survived by their wife and Mother: Mrs Anthony Koester; one son and one brother: Ralph at Home and four daughters and sisters: Mrs Wayne Eyers of Chicago, Illinois; Miss Katherine at Home; Mrs Ben Meyers and Mrs Wm Huelsebusch of Effingham, Illinois. A large number of other relatives and friends survive.
Double funeral services were held Monday morning at St Anthony Church at Effingham, Illinois, with burial taking place in St Anthony Cemetery.
