Graveside services for Erma Pauline Vincent, 98 of Carthage, were held at 1 p.m. Sunday, September 30, 2007 at Restland Memorial Park Cemetery with Reverend Paul Thomasson officiating. Services were under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. Mrs. Vincent died Saturday, September 29, 2007 in Carthage.
Mrs. Vincent was born August 6, 1909 in Keller, Texas. She was one of five children born to the marriage of John Frank and Nellie Dickerson Addington. She was raised and schooled in the rural Tatum, Texas area. She married Thomas Lee Vincent on January 28, 1933. Together she and Tom raised two sons in a loving Christian home and celebrated almost 50 years of marriage before his death in 1982. Mrs. Vincent was devoted to her Lord and family above all else as a member of the First Christian Church, Betty Holt and Pagie Hooker circles, later joining the First United Methodist Church where she was an active member and Sunday school teacher. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is preceded in death by her husband, son Lt. Thomas D. Vincent; brothers Frank and Douglas Addington; and sisters Lillian Golden and Lorene Elam.
She is survived by her devoted son: Lynn Vincent and his wife Carol, of Carthage; grandchildren: Brenda Kay Okuda, of CA, Kay Lynn Brambaugh and husband Forrest, of Dallas, Andy Vincent, of Columbus, OH, and Thomas A. Vincent, of Carthage; great-grandchildren: Luke and Jackson Brumbaugh and Thomas D. Vincent, II, and a host of friends.
