Graveside services Saturday, January 9, 2021, at 2 PM Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Monticello, MS.

Joined the navy in Jan of 1952, shipped to San Diego, Calif. for training and ended up taking training at the Marine Corp Camp the largest portion of training.
Went over to Japan on a troop transport ship, TAP 176, USS Breckenridge. Arrived at Yokosuka, Japan just 14 days later.
Encountered much resistance at Incheon, Korea, in the China Sea. Received a medal and ribbon for this action and after the second tour of duty here, was issued two bronze stars on our Korean Ribbon, also given a United Nations Service Medal for serving in the area along with a China Service Medal and the Navy Occupation Service Medal. Further South he served in a landing at the Beach of Gusan and received a Korean Presidential Citation for the assistance.
About the year of 2002, he received and Second Presidential Citation from the President of Korea in Honor of the 50th year recognition of service.

Married to Barbara Manore until her death in 1974; 4 children.
Married to Catherine Barnett until her death in 2010.
