Agnes G. Mountain Perkins, age 102, of Brooksville, Florida, died at the Hernando Pasco Hospice Care Center in Brooksville, on December 26, 2014. Born in Plant City, FL., to the Late Thomas R. & Maude (Lett) Guthery, on October 12, 1912. Mama, as she was known, moved to Spring Lake to care for her father who was the Principal of the Spring Lake School. She married her husband of 43 years James Bernard Mountain in 1930. Always a seamstress she was of late designing and creating quilts, organized and promoted the Spring Lake Quilters. One of the activities of the Quilters was to make very nice quilts to auction off at the yearly charity to help keep and fund the Spring Lake Community Center. Ever active in the church, she was a long time member of the Spring Lake United Methodist Church, also a long time member of the United Methodist Women. Agnes was also fondly known as the “Mayor of Spring Lake” for many years, and was very active in the Spring Lake Community Club. She was preceded in death by her husband James Bernard Mountain, son Marcel, daughter Annette, sister Evelyn, and brothers Tom & Richard.
