Radio Actor, Singer, Songwriter. Born into a poor family, de la Rocha moved to Managua at a very young age to find work and to study accounting. At the same time, he also pursued his love for music and gradually became known by the leading musicians and composers of his time. Moving into radio, he was chosen to play the character of Pancho Madrigal in the widely popular radio program “Pancho Madrigal.” From that program, de la Rocha expanded to develop other highly popular characters, most notably those of Aniceto Prieto and el Indio Filomeno. At the time of his death, he was performing on the radio shows “Lencho Catarrán” and “La Palomita Mensajera.” In addition to his work in radio, he was an accomplished singer and songwriter, known for songs such as “Pancho Madrigal,” “La pelo de maíz,” “Una canción,” and “Managua, linda Managua."
