Born in Pennsylvania, she lived in Edison for more than 75 years. She was a factory worker, working at K&K Inc. in Highland Park for 20 years before working at Equitable Handbag in New Brunswick. She retired in 1973.
Her husband, Matthew Luty, died in 1939. She was also predceased by two brothers, Anthony Ritz and Samuel Ritz and a sister, Anna Marie Wolfe.
Surviving are her daughter, Clara Hoolihan of Edison; three brothers, John, Carmen and James Ritz; two sisters, Violet Riggs and Evelyn Varchol; two grandson, Brian and Kevin Hoolihan, and a great-granddaughter, Erin.
A funeral mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, July 10, at St. Matthew's R.C. Church in Edison. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery in New Brunswick. Visitation will be 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. Friday at Gosselin Funeral Home, 660 New Dover, Rod Edison.
