Mr. Ehler was born March 29, 1904, at Rosenheim, Russia, a son of Fred and Anna Friebus Ehler. In 1912 he came to Sheboygan with his parents, and attended Trinity Lutheran School. On June 18, 1924, he married Emily Beams, also of Sheboygan. He was employed at Armour Leather Co., and in 1942, he founded Ehler Manufacturing Co., producing artworks, plaques and home decorator items until illness forced his retirement in 1966.
Mr. Ehler was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, a former member of the Sheboygan Christian Men's Business Association and the 16th and 17th Street Brotherhoods.
Survivors are his wife; three sons, Robert, of Sheboygan, Gilbert, of Joliet, Ill., and James, of Tucson, Ariz.; a daughter, Mrs. Jeanette Stevens, of Sheboygan; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four brothers, John, Alex, David and Christ, all of Sheboygan; and three sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Matt and Mrs. Jake Hermann, both of Sheboygan, and Mrs. Hank Gottfried, of Melrose Park, Ill.
