Berniece Lueers, 99, of Marysville, passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 26, 2021.

Funeral services will be private.

Berniece was born September 21, 1921 on the family dairy farm, south of Marysville, the fourth child of 5, born to Frank and Bertha Yaussi. Berniece graduated from Marysville High School and worked locally at the Exchange Bank and the court house, before moving to Glendale, Ca. While living in California, she worked at a bank until her fiancé, Bob Lueers, came home from WWII. They were married in 1945 in Marysville, then returned to California until Bob was released from the Army. They settled on the family farm west of Marysville until 1957, when they moved into town.

Berniece loved spending time with her family, followed by her immense love of music. She was involved in many of the MACT plays, enjoyed opera and singing in her church. Berniece was always active, playing golf, swimming, and trying new things like parasailing. She was an avid bridge player, being a part of many clubs and being in a neighborhood foursome for over 50 yrs.

Berniece and her husband, Bob, traveled the world, enjoying wonderful memories of walking the Great Wall of China, going on an African safari, watching a bull fight in Spain and experiencing Swan Lake in Russia.

Berniece is survived by two daughters, Barbara Siegfreid of Olathe and Marsha Grisell (Randy) of Garden City, 3 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

A private celebration of life will be held by her family with a graveside service at a later date. To leave a message for the family, please visit and sign the Berniece's online guestbook at www.kinsleymortuary.com.

A memorial fund has been established and will be designated later. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
