Writer and Researcher. Fernando Curiel Defossé completed his studies in Law, to later continue with a master's degree in Mexican Letters and a doctorate in Mexican History at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). Since 1980, he was a full-time researcher at various institutes and academic programs at the UNAM, where he also held various positions. He taught postgraduate courses at the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences and at the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters. His works include "¡Que viva Londres!" (1973), "Paseando por Plateros" (1982), "Navaja" (1991), "Se garantiza el parecido" (2001) and "El terremoto de 1985 (y otros deslizamientos del alma)" (2013). He has been awarded some prizes for his work, including the Xavier Villaurrutia Prize, the José Revueltas Literary Essay Prize, among others.
