MADISON -- Services for Lois V. Schmitz, 67, Madison will be Monday at 10:30 am at St. Leonard's Catholic Church here with the Rev. James Ryberg officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be Sunday, 3 - 6:30 pm at the Ressguie Funeral Home here, with a rosary at 7:30 pm at the church.

Mrs. Schmitz died Thursday at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Norfolk after suddenly becoming ill while shopping in Madison.

She was born April 28, 1923 in Humphrey to Frank and Elizabeth (Stoffel) Eckholt. She attended St. Francis Catholic School in Humphrey and worked for a dental assistant there. On January 30, 1954, in Humphrey, she married Nicholas Schmitz. They live in Lindsay until 1975, when they moved to a farm near Madison. In 1981, the moved into Madison.

Besides her husband, Nick; three sons, Tim of Meadow Grove, Don of Becanton, Georgia, and Joe of Madison; five daughters, Mrs. Don (Kathy) Taylor of Albion, Mrs. Dave (Sylvia) Ainsworth, Mary Ann Schmitz and Mrs. Marlin (Barbara) Goodpasture, all of Madison, and Mrs. Randy (Betty) Elsner of Platte Center; 16 grandchildren; four brothers, George of Wheaton, Minnesota, Maurice of White Clay, David of Lewiston, Idaho and Don of Florida; two sisters, Mrs. Howard (Mildred) Reeves of White Clay and Helen Witt of Louisiana.

She joins those who have passed of her parents, three brothers, one sister and one granddaughter.
