The best know band was a group called Trouble, a doom metal band in 1979 in Aurora, Illinois as an original member. To date the group recorded 9 albums. Other groups he was a member of were , Blackfinger and The Skull. He preformed vocals in each of the groups. He left the group Trouble in the mid 90's and helped to form the group Lid. He returned to Trouble in 2000 and remained there until 2008. On August 22, 2021, it was announced Wagner died from COVID-19 the previous night at the age of 62.
