Painter, Sculptor and Muralist. Álvaro Blancarte Osuna, a Mexican artist, studied at the Plastic Arts Workshop of the University of Sinaloa, where he began to practice painting, drawing, and sculpture, and later became the first director of the University's School of Arts and Crafts. For a time he lived in Mexico City, but moved to Tecate after the 1985 earthquake, where he opened his workshop called "La Panocha." Blancarte was also a professor at the Autonomous University of Baja California (UABC). He is the author of series of more than 200 works each as 'Una Perra Llamada la Vaca,' 'Chamanes,' 'Barroco Profundo' and 'Kaimansutra.'
