Dorene was born and raised in Provo, Utah on January 10, 1945 to Lela and Benjamin Lavar Hutchings.
She is the youngest of 12 siblings and the last to pass away.
Dorene married Gary Groesbeck and had 3 sons, Chad and Rodney (both proceeded her in death) and is survived by her son Kirk (Karen) Groesbeck.
Gary and Dorene later divorced.
She married Jim Hiatt in 1978 and lived in the Provo/Orem area until his passing in 2010. They were married for 32 years.
She then relocated to Pleasant Grove to be closer to her son and grandkids.
Her claim to fame are her awesome 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren with 3 on the way.
Dorene had a challenging life but kept on kicking and never gave up, she was one of the toughest people out there.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and had many friends in her last ward.
A special thanks to her sister in-law Betty and all her nieces who were always supportive throughout the years.
A big thank you to her neighbors and friends at Grovecrest Villas, her 2 years there were some of the happiest times of her life.
Also, thank you to Tender Care Hospice and Point Meadows for your compassionate care and patience.
Per Dorene's wishes, there will be private graveside service held at Orem City Cemetery in the Spring.
