Life's Work/Service/Interests: Bud was a cement mason for 43 years, and a member of local 568. He worked for Tolboe Construction Company as their concrete foreman for many of those years. This was a trade he was very proud of, and passed the secret of his success to many of his sons. Bud was a member of the Rock Canyon Assembly of God Church. Bud and Alfred helped form Utah's Big Game Hound Association, and was honored as Houndman of the Year. Bud and his black and tan hounddogs were known state-wide for their hunting abilities with bobcats, lions, and bears. He spent his weekends in the mountains whenever he could. He had a great love for the outdoors, and especially for animals. The family would like to express their thanks to Andrew Ellsworth for his help and support. Demar "Bud" Hutchings, of Provo, died April 4, 1996, of cancer, at his home, with all of his family present. He was 62.
Survived By: His wife, Mary of Provo; five sons and two daughters: Richard (Kathy) Hutchings, Wayne (Lori) Hutchings, all of Provo; Raymond (Sherry) Hutchings of Sandy; Alan Hutchings of Provo; Matt (Becky) Hutchings of Santaquin; Jennifer (Jeff) Hedger of Provo; and Maryann Potter of Salt Lake; 16 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; one brother and seven sisters: Leon (Rhea) Hutchings, Vearl Hunter, Eva (Ken) Kiggins, Norma (Jack) Fausett, Laverne (Alfred) Sidwell, Stella (Willie) Eskelson, Faye Cassingham, and Doreene (Jim) Hiatt.
Preceded In Death By: His parents, two brothers, Max Hutchings and Lee Christensen.
