Mrs Emma Barnes
Manton, Mrs Emma Barnes RR1, Manton, died Saturday at Mercy Hospital in Cadillac after a short illness. Mrs Barnes was born in Meauwataka on Oct 17, 1900. The former Emma Longstreet married Percy Barnes July 1 , 1920. He died in 1957. Mrs Barnes was employed by Mercy Hospital as a licenced pratical nurse until her retirement in 1962. She had been a member of the Manton Retirees Club, the Blue Star Mothers, Manton Womens Society of Christian Service, Michigan Associtaion of LPN's and Bethel Chapel.
Surviving are four sons. lawrence of Conklin, Harold of Tustin, Darrell of Muskegon and Percy of Manton,
four daughters, Mrs Jason (Norma) of Imlay City, Mrs Howard ( Irma) Warden of Fairborn Ohio, Mrs Vernon ( Lois) Goodwin of Clio, Mrs Carl ( Bertha ) Vincent of Long Beach Calif. one brother Alfred Fenton of Manton, 25 grandchildren and six great- grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Wednesday at Hall Funeral Chapel, Rev Eugene Furr will preform the services. Burial will be at Soper Cemetery in Manton.
