He spent his childhood in Maize, KS and graduated from Maize High School in 1965. In 1966 he joined the Navy. He served until 1977. During his time in the Navy he met and married Allyson Morgan in August of 1968. To this union 4 children were born, 2 sons and 2 daughters. After his retirement from the Navy in 1977 he and his family moved to Oklahoma where he worked at the Alva Hospital as an x-ray teck. He then began work at Beneficial and in 1979 he moved to Phillipsburg, KS. Ron and Allyson were divorced in 1980.
He moved to Topeka, KS and married, and later divorced, Carol WIlliams.
He married Becky Walker in December of 2003. They were married until her death in Jan of 2022.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Luella and Charles Switzer, his brothers Curtis, Rex and Michael and his wife Becky.
He is survived by his children: Adam (Melanie) of Louisville, KY, Jason of KCMO, Amber Carver (Adam) of Phillipsburg, KS and Jana Church (Zac) of Gossel, Ks, 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. A sister Kathy (Luke) Jayne and brother Steve (Shelley) Switzer. Several nieces and nephews.
Friends may gather with the family from 5-7pm on Wednesday, June 1 at Carlson Colonial Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held 10am on Thursday, June 2 at Maize Park Cemetery, Maize, KS.
