Luella V Franklin., 88 passed away May 30, 2014 in Branson, Mo. She was born May 24, 1926 in Manter, KS to Kurt and Katie (Durant) Wendt. Luella was a sale associate for Sears & Montgomery Wards. Then she found her true passion becoming a school teacher for the Baptist Tabernacle School of Wichita. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Luella is preceded in death by brother, Carl Wendt; sister, Helen Hill; first husband, Charles Switzer; second husband, Ray Franklin; sons, Rex Switzer, Curtis Switzer. Survived by her children and grandchildren with Charles Switzer, sons, Ronald (Becky) Switzer of Eldorado, KS; Michael (Barbara) Switzer of Bloomingburg, NY; Stephen (Michelle) Switzer of Taylorville, IL; daughters, Kathy (Luke) Jayne of Branson, MO; Tami (Bert) Spain of Wichita, KS; Tina (Scott) Jonker of Wichita, KS; 21 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, 1 great, great-grandchild. Charles and Luella were married for 49 years when Charles passed away. Also survived by step-children and grandchildren with Ray Franklin, son, Kevin (Lue) Franklin of Great Bend, KS; 5 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren. Ray and Luella were married for 13 years when Ray passed away. Visitation 5-8p.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at Hillside Funeral Home West, 2929 W. 13th St. Wichita, KS. Funeral Service, 10a.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at Friendship Baptist Church, 2209 Pawnee St. Wichita, KS. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Friendship Baptist Church.
