Lester J. Boeckman, 87, of Topeka, passed away on Thursday, February 17, 2022 at a Topeka care facility. He was born June 9, 1934 in Kelly, Kansas, the son of Joseph and Johanna (Bokern) Boeckman.
Lester was an Army Veteran during the Korean War. He was employed by National By-Products for many years before retiring in the mid 1990's. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 400 and Philip Billard Post No. 1650, V.F.W.
Lester married Mary Lou Plowman. They later divorced. He later married Louise D. Frear. She preceded him in death on July 16, 2008. He is also preceded in death by his siblings, Bernice, Martha, Helen and Beck.
Survivors include children, Kelli (Jimmy) Clark of Topeka, Brenda Boeckman of Topeka, one granddaughter, Jaime Provines of Topeka and his two brothers, Jerry Boeckman of Hiawatha and Kenneth (Mary) Boeckman of Seneca.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 25, 2022 at Mount Hope Cemetery & Funeral Chapel where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the American Legion Topeka North Post 400, 3029 N.W. US Hwy 24, Topeka, Kansas 66618.
