She was born May 3, 1929, in St. Benedict, KS, the daughter of Joseph and Johanna Bokern Boeckman. She graduated from Kelly High School.
On July 19, 1950, she married Chester Smith at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Falls City, NE. He survives.
She lived in Falls City for most of her adult life. She was an Avon representative for 35 years. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Falls City.
Besides her husband, she is survived by sons, Greg Smith, Falls City, NE; Grant Smith, Falls City, NE; brothers, C.B. Boeckman, Camdenton, MO; Lester Boeckman, Topeka, KS; Jerry Boeckman, Hiawatha, KS; sisters, Martha Hutfles, Falls City, NE; Helen Honeyman, Seneca, KS; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were held April 25, 1998, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Falls City, NE. Burial was in Falls City Catholic Cemetery.
