Thomas Mihm was born in Hesse, Germany, March 24, 1867. He was one of eight** children born to Thomas and Mary Mihm. He departed this life December 26, 1945, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Concordia at the age of 78 years, 9 months and 2 days. He came to the United States at the age of five years and located with his family at Winchester, Kansas.
On October 15, 1895, he was united in marriage to Catherine Agnes Heller of Nortonville, Kansas. To this union were born five children: Margaret, who is now Mrs. Joe H. Clark of Minneapolis; Agnes, who is now Mrs. Chester Wendlandt of Edwall, Wash., Bill of Delphos; John of the home, and Vera, now Mrs. S.S. Bono of Kearney, N.J.
In 1916 Mr. and Mrs. Mihm and family moved to Edwall, Wash., where they lived for three years. In 1919, they moved to Glasco, Kansas, where they farmed until 1936. At this time they moved to Jamestown, Kansas, where he resided until the time of his death.
Surviving him are his wife and five children, three sons-in-law, one daughter-in-law, eight grandchildren, one brother, Simon, of Atchison, two sisters, Mrs. Veronica Seiben of Kansas City, and Mrs. Mona Migiral, of Kearney, Nebr. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, distant relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at St. Mary's Catholic Church at Glasco, December 29, at 10:00 a.m., conducted by Rev. John H. Lenahan. Music was furnished by Mrs. Roy Lavy and Bob Pitner of Glasco. Pallbearers were Pearl Davis, George Krone, Herman Krone, of Delphos, Tom Butler, Paul Butler and Joe Reidmiller of Glasco. Burial was in the Glasco Cemetery.
