She was born on Feb. 6, 1902, at Albion, Ill., and married Harold Hortin there on Feb. 27, 1926. They later made their home at Assumption, Ill.
Mrs. Hortin was a registered nurse. She took her training at the Lying-In Hospital, Chicago, Ill., and at the Olney Hospital, Olney, Ill.
In 1949 she and her husband came to Manson where they owned and operated an orchard.
Survivors include her husband, at the home; a son, Dean Hortin, Manson; a daughter, Charlotte Hortin, Stockton, Calif.; one brother, Alan Crome, Albion, Ill.; three grandchildren and one great-grandson.
