The funeral of Mrs. Julia Kretschmer, 81, of 503 Portland avenue, will be held at 9:45 Saturday morning from the Gundlach and Co. funeral home. Services will be held at 10 o'clock at St. Peter's Cathedral. Interment will be in Green Mount cemetery. Mrs. Kretschmer was a lifetime member of St. Peter's Cathedral.
Mrs. Kretschmer died at 12:30 yesterday afternoon at St. Elizabeth's Hospital after an extended illness. She was born here, Dec. 23, 1875, a daughter of Nicholas and Mary Abegg Sauer, and married Louis Kretschmer here, Oct. 15, 1896. Mr. Kretschmer, who was a retired foundry worker, died July 17, 1953.
She is survived by a daughter and two sons:
Esther, wife of Theodore Wisch, Jefferson City, Mo.
Aldoph Kretschmer, 503 Portland Avenue
Louis R. Kretschmer, 10 Robin Hill Lane
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Irene, wife of August F. Gerber.
Also surviving are six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and a brother:
Ben Sauer, 619 Bornman street
She was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters. One of the sisters, Mrs. Katherine Paule, 88, died a week ago today.
